Labor Day Weekend

Labor Day weekend Tim and I spent with the Mike and Liz. Tim went to high school with Mike and has been friends with him since. We started at New Glarus Brewing Company. They brew beers like Spotted Cow, Fat Squirrel, Uff Da Bock, and Wisconsin Belgian Red. We took a tour of the brewery and learned of its beginnings and ended with a tasting. Yes, I actually tasted. Anyone else surprised? I just can't figure out why I do not like beer. Everyone says its an acquired taste. I guess I don't feel so bad because my mom doesn't like it either. Maybe it really is a genetic thing. Then with free drink coupons we headed into New Glarus downtown to a small bar. It was a typical small town bar and it frightened me a bit. It was so odd to see smoking in an indoor area, even though it hasn't been that long since the ban went into effect. That is one law that I am SO happy for. Next we headed into Monroe to go to Baumgartner's. They are a cheese shop, bar, and restaurant. Tim is craving the chili again and me the turtle cheesecake. Finally, after getting lost for a brief moment, we headed on over to Sky Vu Drive In and watched Wall-E and Batman for.....get this, $7!! It was awesome. We of course headed to Walmart to get snacks, even though its prohibited there. After the movie we stayed at Tim's parents house in Pecatonica. It was a really, really great weekend.
