Cleaning the Carpet

Today, as Tim was vacuuming the carpet in an attempt to clean the house and we noticed that the vacuum simply wasn't picking up anything. It was running, just not working. We've had this vacuum only for about 2 years and it worked great while we had it. But anyone who knows Tim, knows that he NEEDS his vacuum cleaner. So, today we went to Target with our 2 remaining Target giftcards to purchase a vacuum cleaner. This is what we found...and Tim couldn't be happier.

Monstrosity

Tim and I finally got rid of our old couch that had been sitting in our bedroom and/or dining room for the past 3 weeks. We put an ad on Craigslist and got many replies. We weren't asking much, we just wanted to get it out of here. We were both a little anxious about having someone come over to the house that we didn't know to pick it up, but they turned out to be super nice. We got rid of it on Superbowl Sunday, yea. Which leads me into my next story.

Tim and I have been eyeing this cat toy at Walmart since before Christmas. It was normally $99, but was so outrageously expensive that no one bought it and it eventually went into the clearance aisle and was priced at $69. I know, still too expensive. But if you know Tim and his unwillingness to spend money, you'll know this toy has to be good if he wanted to buy it too. We finally went and bought the toy yesterday with the couch money. This thing is huge and kind of tacky, but man does Bogey have a BLAST in it. Russ is still a little scared of it. (I showed him one of the higher levels and he proceeded to bite my cheek out of fear and to tell me to let him down.) It has all these levels and its in front of the window and he can lay in it and look out the window. We were smart enough to kind of hide this monstrosity. Its on our closet door, which we usually keep open. I'd highly recommend this toy for any curious cats!!
